According to Billboard, it seems that Sony and R. Kelly have officially decided to end their business partnership..
The decision is said to come immediately after a recent documentary series from LifeTime, Surviving R. Kelly, which makes detailed allegations against R. Kelly.
R Kelly’s representatives could not be contacted to comment on the position, but were removed from the official RCA site. He began his career with Jive Records, and when Jive became part of Sony BMG, he also signed up under the umbrella of Sony,and have been in a contract with the RCA as of recent times, which are also under Sony.
Since the release of “Surviving R. Kelly,” many artists have come out against him as a result of these accusations.
As previously reported, Sony / RCA has suspended by R. Kelly music, meaning that it would not release any additional new music until criminal investigations were resolved.
